Incredible Lightning Bolt Photo Booth Backdrop

In the last blog post we shared all the party details from Louis’ lightning bolt inspired superhero birthday. Surely you have noticed the awesome lightning bolt photo booth backdrop that all our guests raved about! Although this DIY backdrop project wasn’t an easy one to create, it definitely made a bold statement and helped set the tone for the party! Today we’re excited to show you the step-by-step guide for this fun DIY! 

Materials needed:  

• Gold, silver and black foil fringe curtains (4x foil curtains of each color; the size that we used was 3.28 x 8.2 feet)
• Scissors   
• Tapes
• Thin white ribbon 

Step 1: Tape all four of the black foil curtains onto the wall. Our tip is to fold each of the curtain panel into half and tape it onto the wall. It helps create a fuller look of the curtain vs. scattered/sparse.

Step 2: Take two panels of the gold curtain and layer them above the black curtain in the middle. Tape them on tope of the black curtain.   

Step 3: Use the ribbon as the “ruler” to form a diagonal line across the wall. Cut the gold curtain panel along the line to get a triangle shape of the gold curtain layer, above the black curtain. As reference diagram #2.

Step 4: Layer one silver curtain panel above the gold curtain in the middle on the left. Use the ribbon to form a diagonal line and cut the silver curtains to get a triangle shape of the silver curtain. As reference diagram #3.

Step 5: Layer the rest two gold curtain panels over the black curtain at the top and repeat step 3 to form the top of the lightning bolt shape. As reference diagram #3.

Step 6: Layer the rest of the silver curtain panels on the top left of the wall. Repeat step 4 to form the top of the lightning bolt shape. As reference diagram #4

Step 7: Fineness and trim the unwanted fringe to form a perfect shape of your awesome lightning bolt.

Now get ready to take many selfies with friends and fam in front of this amazing wall!
